Speakers
Keynote Speaker: Linda Smith
After establishing herself as a successful tax consultant in Washington, Linda entered state politics and served in the state legislature for 11 years. Then, in 1994, an unusual write-in campaign sent her to the U.S. Congress, House of Representatives. While still serving in Congress, Linda traveled to Mumbai, India where she witnessed the horrors of sex slavery. Her heart was broken for its victims and felt God was leading her to minister to them, so in 1998 after completing two terms in Congress, she founded Shared Hope International. The organization began as a movement to provide safety and shelter to victims of sex trafficking internationally, and has since come to address the severe issue of sex trafficking in our own country through education and public awareness. Also, she has been working to have laws changed to bring justice and has worked to increase access to shelter and services.
